Friday morning and to the man camped on the opposite side of the road to  us I say a "BIG THANK YOU"
for kicking your dog out at 6:30 am and then letting it bark for the next 2:1/2 hours  maybe one day I can repay
the favour.........( This happened every morning for the rest of the show and didn't impress me at all).
Now usually I go for an early morning walkabout with my little girl and we spend some time together discussing
cars we like and dislike that we see on our travels, ( she is nearly five years old and her choices amaze me as most of
them are what I would pick must be dad's influence) but with her still asleep I brewed up and sat outside for a
while and relaxed in the early morning sun thinking  as you do at quiet times (we all do it now and again).
The peace didn't last long as others started to arise and another day of partying began. Breakfast was a
communal affair with everybody gathered round Stewart's hotplate and soon we had all been fed and watered,
cleaned up and ready for the days activities. Hemiguy and Oz being Americana virgins were given advice on what
to expect but eventually went off and did their own thing, by helping to put up the AACI marquee and get the
stand ready.
Me I did my usual thing of doing nothing well not really as there is always something to do here.
The weather brightened up and we went for a walk round the site.
With people still arriving there wasn't that much to see  but the main
stage was up and running so we stood and watched one of the first
band s. I am not a big fan of Country /Rockabilly but they were
good and there were a few up dancing. Back around the trade stalls
where Stewart bought some alloy cleaner from the Auto proud
stall. He had won a complimentary pack of their products at the
Leicester show and highly recommended their polishes. When we
arrived back at the camp Angie and Bren had arrived  from
Cheshire (Jolly Nice People you Know) after exchanging hello's
Deej brought out the melons he had been infusing with alcohol the
previous week. (Deej your supposed to use water melons not
golden melons)
Rusti Steele and the Red hot
Wranglers opened the show on
the main stage and proved to be
very entertaining to my surprise..
This was on show on one of the traders
stalls very nicely detailed, and for kids,
there were a some sold as well as a few
were seen riding round the site over the
weekend...
I make no apologise for including this shot as
my automotive taste is very varied and I did
like this VW .
Barb punched a hole in the first one and put in two straws. Carol andChrissie from the Blacktops were
amongst the first to try it out and agreed it was good eventually it came did the round and was emptied rather
quickly. Once emtied it was inceremoniously cut up and eaten, then out came the second one which i must say
didn't look as good as the first one but was better by all accounts.
Carol and Chrissie try out DJ's alcohol
melons....
instant result's included loss of sight and silly
hand movements.
I decided to give the Edsel a clean up and used the polish Stewart had bought to clean up my wheels...... wow
this stuff is good having always used Autoglym's polishes I am seriously considering trying out this stuff ,
There were plenty of other's with the same idea as me and around the camp was a hive of activity as they got
ready for the judging next day.
Cleaning over with ,food eaten time for a quick shower  ( ain't modern caravans great) change of clothes and
out for the night> By the time we got to the Harley bar it was around 10:30 and the band ( Junction) had
already begun. But with what we saw and heard from them they were good, real good. We stayed in there till
kicking out timt which was early for the harley bar ( around 12;30) and back to the camp but not before going
for a Kurry yes you can get a Kurry or even aKebab at Americana.
Time for bed again as I was tired or should that read pleasantly pissed, who knows or cares as I  had a great
night and would probably suffer for it in the morning
Saturday ... Shut that dog
up my head hurts....
