Capesthorne Hall
On a wet and windy Bank Holiday Monday it made a pleasant change not to have the
caravan in tow when heading of to a show, this was the situation as we set off for
Capesthorne Hall to the Motorvating show, Capesthorne is situated on the A34 near
macclesfield so it was a fairly local show only 30 miles away
Thw weather forecasters had predicted a day os sunshine and slight winds boy did they
get it wrong, with heavy rain and wind for most of the day.
Colin baffled the
commentator with his
words of wisdom
The eventual winner was the
Dodge Dart of Angie and
rightly so as well , along with
Best American she also was
awarded the Motorvating
award as well .
With the prizegiving over and
in typical fashion the sun came
out just as every one was
heading off home.This is
another small show that would
benefit from some   support of
people before it  too
dissappears but despite the
poor weather there was a
good turnout proving that the
American vehicle does have a
place at the British Classic car
Show.
Absolutly stunning Mustang
Fastback was right on the
button.. oooh yes please...
 Corvette made the short
pilgramage  from Manchester
This Galaxie was big in
every  department
Triple winner on the day

But still a few hardy souls braved the weather and there
was a good turnout from the Northern Devils (PT
Cruisers Club) AACNW, Motorvating and some Classic
British clubs as well as a sprinkling of Rods.Dj Barb and
redneck made the trip over from Yorkshirebut the "Long
Distance Award " went to Colin in his 57 Fairlane
retractableand despite his 6 hour journey arrived in
good spirits
The rain put a slight damper on the daybut come prize
giving the AACI faired quite well with Angie taking Best
Dodge for her immaculate Dodge Dart Custom. Colin -
Best Ford for his 57 Retractable and Chris - Best other
American for his 58 Edsel.
The winners in each group were invited back into the
main arena to be judged for the best "American car of
the day"
