Fort Paull
Hosted by Yancs
I cannot understand how some people let the weather put them off coming to a show for the weekend. Granted if you
are in a tent then it can be a pain in the ar*e trying to keep your things dry. I have been through all of that and there
is always the bar to keep you dry (On the outside at least) and after a couple of hours who gives a toss about the
weather ..I'll have another beer please barman ... And there is normally someone you can blag a spare T-Shirt off ....
Leaving Manchester in bright sunshine hopes were high for good weather over the weekend.... and all was going
well until Brighouse when the usual Friday rush hour that begins at 1 PM these days but once through that on the
other side of Leeds and it was quite pleasant, then the first few drops appeared and continued steadily until it
became a full on downpour and with vacumn wipers it ain't no joke
But we arrived safely and set up camp in the pouring rain.
Setting up a tent in the rain isn't a whole heap of fun and doing the same with a caravan, you get just as wet believe
me.. and what did my better half do go in the caravan and stayed dry, and then complained when I came in for a
coat because I was dripping water over the carpet (maybe one day I will understand their logic)

With everything set up, kick back and
grab a beer, food and then continue
partying until the early Hours. At least
the rain stopped just after I had
finished setting up, typical, and with a
roaring fire it was a warm and dry
evening that saw a few bottles drank
and some unexpected development in
Hotel DJ.......
Barb had to escort DJ to his boudoir at
around 9:45 pm which is quite early for
DJ. But as mentioned there were a
couple of unexpected incidents one of
which the Humberside Bouvine Society
is allegedly looking into. (Unfortunatly I
am not allowed to display the picture's
for legal reason's but rest assured they
will be posted as soon as I legally
allowed too
Damn I've been spotted....not quite got the hang of this "Paparazzi " thing

Under a canopy and umbrella ..Only a woman...
|
Party time Blacktops style..warm
fire and warm company .......
Looks like Redneck is auditioning
for the remake of Dallas.........
Just one of the "Incidents by DJ" over the weekend.... Who is this mysterious woman it sure isn't Barb

Saturday
Saturday and there were a few weary people emerging from their slumber me included I had a real bad head but
came round after a good full "English breakfast"
For those that wanted there was free tickets to the NSRA show in the multi story car park in Hull or for those that
hadn't been before a chance to explore the Fort and it's attractions but for the majority it was kick back and relax.
Some more arrivals during the day from the AACNW, the Northern Devils (Pt Cruisers ) and other clubs swelled
the attendance figures.
One or two ventured onto the showfield and with the sun making an appearance it was looking like the figures
were up on last year which is a good thing as these small shows need the support or they will dissappear.
One of the last surviving "Beverly" Aircraft left is on show at the Fort and inside is a museum dedicated to this particular plane and provides a fascinating insight into it's history.

Northern Devils put on an excellent light show on Saturday night

The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing and playing with a new camera ..so hopefully I should be able to get some
decent photo's for next year...
Eventually it was time to head off to the bar for the nights entertainment and by the time we arrived it was full with people
sitting outside in the warm evening air.
One of the attractions at this show is the "Ghost Hunt" which only a few take up but this year i think half of the camp
decided to go on it. So a few of us decided to go off earlier and have a look round before it got too busy.
It is an eerie feeling walking round the fort at night your senses start to work overtime and every little noise makes you
aware that you might not be alone.I reeled off a few pics and when i checked them later a couple of strange shapes
were visible..what they are I don't know but when i took a picture of the same spot a couple of seconds later it wasn't
there (You make up your own mind) but asI am open minded to this type of thing it is quite possible that it could be
something.
Just to the left of the left hand door ..is it a shape or not you
decide when I enlarged it and transferred image to infra red it
does show a distinct shape but I'm not sure what it is....Save the
pictures enlarge them and decide for yourself.....
This pic was taken later and there is nothing there spooky..

Carrying on with the nights entertainment back in the bar, it was in full flow with an impromptu strip for the ladies by a
super hero but it wasn't that good according to my missus and Lou and nothing to brag about... but even this had to
eventually end and it was back to camp for the usual "more beers and food" party
Some decided to go back on a ghost hunt once everything had quietened down, dissipated to bed although I was
informed that it eventually dissipated around 4am.
Cow Bag Cruisers got into the swing of things with their fancy dress..Bin Laden was later seen heading off to the dungeons accompanied by two soldiers with guns.

Plenty of Ghost Hunters went on the trip down the tunnels

Diamond geezer Colin won the
"Long distance Award" just
pipping Hemiguy by a couple of
miles. He heads of to the local
shops with the top down and sun
shining his Fairlane Retractable.
Organiser's Phil and Jackie get into the swing of things on saturday night.
