Classic Car Show
2005
The N.S.R.A and the
N.A.S.C were
present with some
outstanding hot rods
and customs. Dave
Harris new Pop
really stood out but
with its orange paint
and blue interior
could easily be
mistaken for a
certain member of
the Brat Pack latest
ride.
The Edsel Stand drew a steady
stream of visitors. Many of whom
had probably never seen one before
and had only heard bad things
about them judging by the questions
asked about reliability and parts etc:
but went away a little bit wiser
Jaguar had a very large
stand and took up almost a
third of the hall, which
seemed excessive when
some other stands were
struggling for room.
Autoglym polishes had there Grand
Champion final here for original and
Modified classes and all were winners in
my book but my favourite was the Met
Blue Audi (Left)
Rule Britannia Scooter
took me back to my
youth
Classic British Bikes. Modern imports might be
more reliable but just don't have that certain
something that makes them so great.
Plenty of
Classic British
Fords. All of
them could
have come
home with me.
Italian styling at its best.
Alfa Romeo. Yes there
were Ferrari's, Lambo's
etc there but they don't
float my boat and never
will.
French
Classic's.
Citroen stand
were having a
ball with there
"Allo Allo" theme
Fine examples of the "Rootes Group
of cars.
"Shaken not Stirred"James Bond  DB Aston Martin had
crowds round it all weekend
There were many other outstanding cars present and these pics represent just a small amount that
were on show. There was plenty to do for the public and exhibitors, so if you have never been
before why not give it a go but remember to book your tickets in advance through your car club as
you will save money and benefit your club at the same time.
CLASSIC AMERICAN magazine had a large stand exhibiting all the heat winners from 2005 from
which the ultimate "Car of the Year" would be chosen not a task that I envied the judges as they were
all immaculate, but pick a winner they did. The eventual winner was the Buick to the left what a
fantastic car. There were plenty of other classic yanks on show ranging from Model A's to Dodge
Vipers with a lot of late 60's early 70's muscle cars.
Humber and Riley are old English manufacturers long out of
production
