Route 56 was born from an idea as a cruise/meet venue for the Cheshire and Manchester branches of the AACI. They have created what will be one of the largest North West venues where owners and enthusiast's of American vehicles of all makes and years and Hot Rod's can meet up once a month. The chosen venue " The Hollow Tree" is easily accessible from the M56 motorway (Junction 10) and has a large car park that is well lit and monitored by CCTV. It is an ideal place to turn up that little bit early and enjoy the 2-4-1 meal deal ( the missus will love you for it. . . no washing up afterwards) and there is even a large play area for the kids
A few of the hardy souls who braved the cold to turn out for the first AACI Cheshire/Manchester Route 56
There is only one rule "NO BURNOUTS" which makes sense to me as with children around and some top quality vehicles it only needs one accident to ruin what will be a fantastic meet when the good weather arrives . . . The first meet attracted people from far and wide with a good turnout from across the Peninnes, Northampton, Wales. It was great to see so many present as the majority of people, me included have put their vehicles away for the winter. The weather although dry was bitterly cold and eventually it was time to head back into the bar for the Charity raffle that was held, with the proceeds going to the "Wish upon a Star Foundation" (£ 134:00 was raised so well done everyone who bought a ticket) The raffle prizes were fantastic and ranged from a mountain bike to the "special" prize that Pete won (After crying the winning ticket home . . . It will come in handy on those frosty mornings eh Pete . . . Once the raffle had finished it was time for me to head of home as an early start beckoned me in the morning but a few stayed on so with the farewells said I headed off into the distance (well the M56 really) I will be there next month, will you ?

Cheshire and Manchester reps of the AACI were pleased with the turnout of the first meet Well done folks
